I wanted to inform you ahead of time that Williamson County will be placing a 4-way stop at the intersection of Sun Chase and Autumn Fire. This decision was based off an engineering traffic study in accordance with the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. We estimate stop sign installation the week of January 21st.
The installation schedule is below:
Week of the 7th: You will see static signs placed on all approaches to the intersection stating the proposed changes;
Week of the 14th: The static signs will be removed and large message boards will be placed on Sun Chase to alert traffic to a new stop condition coming;
The week of the 21st: You will see the stop poles installed a few days prior to the stop signed being placed. Message boards will be updated to “STOP AHEAD”
The week of the 28th: Message boards removed
Williamson County will continue to study the intersection in the months following the 4-way stop installation.
Let me know if you have any questions,
Matt Williamson, PE
